Christmas Advent Challenge!

Updated: Dec 2

The 24 day yoga challenge.

Did you know that practicing yoga daily can help build your mental focus, increase bone density, improve posture, increase flexibility, build strength, aid sleep and rebalance the nervous system? When we think of practicing daily we might feel dread at the commitment, worry that we can't do the poses and panic about the time we need to create to do a practice. Honestly, yoga doesn't need to be a chore and I hope that this 24 day challenge helps you to reconnect back to your body and mind, depending on the pose you could practice it with the family, you could practice it brushing your teeth, you only need a few breaths to connect to what you are doing. If you are practicing at home, for longer than a few breaths you could incorporate these daily poses to your practice. Did you know that practicing for just 20 minutes a day can help us form healthy movement habits and mindfulness that we are more likely to stick to?

The idea of a daily pose helps you to become more present, helps you learn a little more about the pose and helps to widen our connections to our community. It helps us to sit with our physical body, make friends with it and enjoy all of the benefits that can come with the yoga practice in snippet like moments within our day. Being present can be one of the most powerful qualities of our practice and can improve our connections within our life and relationships with those around us.

If you have done a yoga challenge with me before sometimes it's nice to look back on how your practice has changed and evolved, this might mean that your pose has physically changed, if not, you may notice you have a lot more patience and acceptance the next time around. Yoga teaches us that life is a state of change, that each day we feel different, each day we can flow, freeze or fall, and that's okay. Showing up and connecting to our bodies and minds each day, is, well, magic.

Would you like to join me?

If you would like to join me for this years Wildlove Advent challenge all you need to do is follow me! Subscribe to the website or find me on facebook or instagram to get the daily posts. This challenge is free to all and I would love it to reach as many people as it can! Not only does it help us connect to our own practice BUT it also helps us to celebrate our uniqueness and dedication to taking time for ourselves.

What do we do?

Each day a new pose will be shared online, enjoy reading the blog post about the posture breakdown and write up. Variations and layers are included so find comfort and confidence to explore the pose, your way, at your own pace.

What do we need?

You don't need anything! You don't need a yoga mat, you don't need yoga clothing, you don't need to be flexible, you don't need a huge space to practice in (remember I mentioned about brushing your teeth in a pose?!). If you want to join me for the challenge and be in for a chance to win the prize Im offering, you'll need a camera and a tripod!

I can't commit to daily, can I still practice?

You can practice any time you like, any time of day, between your jobs, school run, lunch break. You can also catch up any time, the yoga challenge won't be disappearing anytime soon!

The 24 day challenge prizes

In order to participate in the prize draw, you must commit to daily practice and provide evidence of it! This is an opportunity to expand our community by sharing your pose online, enabling us to connect with others visually and acknowledge your dedication to your self-care. It also helps me to see you and connect with you personally, it can inspire others to practice and it also celebrates our diversity as practitioners. As I mentioned previously, you don't need anything fancy to practice, you don't need a 'yoga body', you need your body, to do yoga!

Can we inspire ourselves & others?

These challenges are all about having fun, embracing the wobbles, not taking ourselves so seriously, practicing to feel our strengths, weaknesses and things that we may not have felt before. They help us to build a connection to ourselves with daily mindfulness and most importantly they help us to move our bodies.

A wider family - Sponsors

I feel very grateful to have some lovely sponsors sharing their practice with us for this 24 day advent challenge! Our yoga community is vast, far and wide and it's something to be celebrated! From sharing classes for over a decade with all ages from 2 to 80+years , to teaching at festivals and personal profound private practices, from meeting so many gorgeous people and building friendships I hope that this challenge inspires you!

I want to share and celebrate fellow teachers and well being lovers that I know personally and that inspire me and my own self care journey. You'll soon notice that as your own personal experience into self care grows that you open, you connect to others on the same journey and soon realise, we are all one big family!

Bex Flow Movement

After practicing yoga on and off for over 15 years I finally qualified last year, and currently teach Core Strength Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra, where I emphasise mindful movement that is both accessible and empowering for every yogi. In my classes I focus on creating space for individuals to tune into their bodies whilst weaving in cues from the natural world around us. Yoga has been a transformative tool in my own life, helping me to navigate mental health challenges and providing a refuge to breathe, reflect, and restore. Through each class, I invite students to explore their unique bodies, move in ways that feel nourishing, and cultivate balance both on and off the mat.
